I've been working as a Sr. UNIX System Administrator focusing on UNIX Scripting, system/network troubleshooting, virtualization and clustering. Predominately, I've worked with AIX, HP-UX and Linux; however, I have also worked with IRIX, Tru64/OSF1, Solaris and various other flavors of UNIX/Linux - virtualization/clustering. Certified UNIX Scripting Expert - IBM 2011.

Currently, I'm working as a Sr. UNIX System Administrator for HLC, but my previous experience includes IBM and HP.

I was responsible for 1,000+ servers at IBM and over 300 at HP. I have also completed extensive training in Virtualization, Clustering, Linux, AIX, HP MC/Service Guard, HACMP, Veritas Netbackup, Perl Programming and HP-UX 10.X/11.X troubleshooting.

Current Responsibilities - UNIX Scripting Expert
  • System Administration on Linux, HP-UX, AIX Power7, AIX Power6 and AIX Power5 servers in Production, DR, QA, Development and Staging environments.
  • Virtualization AIX Power7 and AIX Power6 using HMC (V7R7.4) that configured portions of their virtual processor and memory resources to provide capacity to other LPARS.
  • Firmware upgrades and updates for frames.
  • PROMOX and Debian Linux Virtualization.
  • HMC Upgrades and new installs.
  • Apply fixes and patches to AIX LPARS, Linux and HP-UX servers to current level.
  • Created and configured logical partitions (LPARS) and added resources using HMC.
  • Built and upgraded new AIX, Linux and HP-UX Servers.
  • Created new Volume Groups, Logical Volumes and File Systems.
  • Ensured high quality of server integrity by participating and following industry best practices.
  • Extensive UNIX Scripting - ksh, csh, bash, tcl, expect and others.
